Grilled Cheese is a new federated social network. It came out of a simple want: one account that lets you follow people across both ATProto and ActivityPub.

It is built on an entirely new back end and front end, designed to be fast and responsive, and to be the best place to post and read short-form content and media.

Federation

Grilled Cheese speaks both of the open social-web protocols, ATProto and ActivityPub, so a Grilled Cheese identity is reachable from Bluesky and from Mastodon-style servers, and posts from those networks show up in your feeds. An identity has two addressable forms, which the app shows you when it matters:

Network Form

ATProto

@you.grilledcheese.app

ActivityPub

@[email protected]

ATProto handles are always shown with a leading @, the same way @nytimes.com appears on Bluesky.

Who makes it
